Release Info: 
Released as a triple vinyl on April 29,1996 by Virgin Records. Also available on double cd and
double cassette. Originally in limited edition with 5000 copies but there is now thought to
be over 16,000 copies on the market.  This version has a different running order than other
versions of Mellon Collie. It also has two extra songs, Tonite Reprise, and Infinite Sadness.

Notable Names:
All songs written by Billy Corgan except Take Me Down by James Iha, and Farewell and
Goodnight by Billy Corgan and James Iha. Produced by Flood, Alan Moulder, and Billy
Corgan. Art direction and design by Frank Olinsky and Billy Corgan. Illustration by John
Craig and photography by Andrea Giacobbe.  Production on Inifinite Sadness by Butch Vig
and Billy Corgan.

Recorded(Where and When):
All songs recorded between March-August 1995 at Pumpkinland, Sadlands, Bugg Studios, 
Chicago Recording Company, and The Village Recorder, except for Infinite Sadness, which
recorded between December 1992-March 1993 at Triclops Studios in Atlanta, Georgia.

Milestones:
Work off Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness earned the Pumpkins critical acclaim. It 
debuted on Billboard at #1.Time Magazine voted it as the best album of 1995. Mellon Collie
and the Infinite Sadness is the highest selling double album of all time. They earned 8 1996
MTV Video Music Award nominations, and won 7 awards: Video of the Year(Tonight, 
Tonight), Best Art Direction, Best Direction, Breakthrough Video(Tonight,Tonight), Best
Alternative Video(1979), Best Special Effects, and Best Cinematography. Here's a 
post awards show interview.They earned 7 Grammy Nominations, but only won one award,
Best Hard Rock Performance for Bullet with Butterfly Wings. Here's the acceptance speech. 
At the MTV Europe 1996 awards, they won Best Rock Act. The Pumpkins performed during 
the MCIS era at the Grammy's, and the American Music Awards. During the year and a half
long Infinite Sadness Tour, Jimmy Chamberlain was kicked out of the band after he was
charged with heroine possesion on July 12,1996. Keyboardist Jon Melvoin died of a heroin
overdose the same night. The Pumpkins later resumed the tour with touring drummer, Matt 
Walker. The Pumpkins also appeared on the Simpsons on the season finale in 1996, they
played a major role in the show and played Zero. Here's a video from that episode.
Pumpkins also were involved in the 1996 Tibetan Freedom Concert where everybody was
blessed by the monks except the late Jonathan Melvoin. Also, on May 11th,1996, SP fan 
Bernadette O'Brien was killed in the mosh pit at Dublin Point Theatre.

Other Facts:
Muzzle was actually suppose to be the fifth video off Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
but it didn't go high enough on the radio charts to warrant a video. Muzzle was only
released as a radio promo.
