Other Info:
-According to the Jim Stapleton book it was,
"1993's answer to 'Smells Like Teen Spirit', his
(Billy) took a cynical stab at the money and fame
that the song might bring".
Video Info:
-Directed by Kevin Kerslake + filmed in July '93. The
video has the band in a forest at night with a whole
bunch of colors streaking across the screen.
Thought by some to have brought SP into the
mainstream, the single made
Siamese Dream debut
at #10 on Billboard.
-In '93 on MTV's
120 Minutes, Corgan called it a "nightmarish experience". He said that the director
talked him into doing a different video than he had
wanted. Billy says, "next thing you know I'm on top
of a mountain in San Francisco, + it's raining +
freezing + the video is all screwy + you can't tell I'm
on top of a mountain...it's completely not what I
wanted". Billy's idea: SP playing in a theater, with
angels hanging from the ceiling on ropes, + "metal
kids" watching them play.
Freak out, Give in
Doesn't matter what you believe in
Stay cool
And be somebody's fool this year
'cause they know
Who is righteous, What is bold
So I'm told
Who wants honey
As long as there's some money
Who wants that honey?
Hipsters unite
Come align for the big fight to rock for you
But beware
Of all those angels with there wings glued on
'cause deep down
We are frightened and we're scared
If you don't stare
Who wants honey
As long as there's some money
Who wants that honey?
Let me out, Let me out
Let me out, Let me out
Tell me all of your secrets
Cannot help but believe this is true
Tell me all of your secrets
I know, I know, I know
Should have listened when I was told
Who wants honey
As long as there is some money
Who wants that honey?
Let me out, Let me out
Let me out, Let me out
