I know we're just like old friends
We just can't pretend
That lovers make amends
We are reasons so unreal
We can't help but feel
That something been lost
But please you know you're just like me
Next time I promise we'll be
Perfect
Perfect
Perfect strangers down the line
Lovers out of time
Memories unwind
So far I still know who you are
But now I wonder
Who I was
Angel you you know it's not the end
We'll always be good friends
But the letters have been sent on
Please you were so free
You'll see
I promise we'll be
Perfect
Perfect strangers when we meet
Strangers on the street
Lovers while we sleep
Perfect
You know this has to be
We always we're so free
We promised that we'd be
Perfect

Directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Farris. This is their fifth Pumpkins video directed,
if you include the collaboration with Joel Shumacker on TEITBITE. Filmed in LA on July 26,
1998. It is a continuance of the 1979 video. The two main characters who were kissing in
the pool in 1979 are now married and have a baby. The video opens up with people hitting
colored golf balls with baseball bats in a batting cage, then it gets into the "story". Scenes
from the video include: the main girl finding out she's pregnant with another guy's baby
than her husband, a guy stealing nachos and pop from the Stop N' Go-and James' cashier
character presses the alarm-he would later be involved in a car chase, a guy bootlegs a
Pumpkins concert at a small underground club-only to later have the tape fall off the roof
of his car and get crushed(sound familiar-see 1979 info), and during the car chase seen-
the husband of the married couple crashes into a police car. The band is featured of
course in the club scene with touring members Kenny Aronoff and Mike Garson, Billy also
shown high over the city(crane shots) with a cowboy hat on, and D'arcy is the reporter at
the end of the video.
